The Trust was set up to help students who satisfy certain residential qualifications and it is an absolute requirement that awards can only be made to persons who have lived in the City of Glasgow for a minimum of five years. The City of Glasgow is defined by the boundaries as at 1975. It is a further condition that the said five year requirement does not include any period of further or higher education.
The Trust holds a list of the postcodes which qualify.
Individual awards are normally made to persons over 18 years old. Only in exceptional circumstances will awards be made to undergraduate students. Applicants should show evidence of savings and other fund raising activity.
Applicants are expected to apply for any loans available through the Student Loans Company.
